| Multi-stakeholders Initiatives for Peace and Stability (MIPS): The Hunger Project (THP) and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) have partnered on a five-year project (2023 – 2028) to foster peace and stability across Bangladesh. Funded by the FCDO, the project aims at building community-based peace volunteer groups and networks, working to address, prevent and mitigate incidents of political, religious, and ethnic violence. Implemented in eighty sub-districts across 30 districts, including Chittagong Hill Tracts, the initiative seeks to promote harmony and resilience at the grassroots level. |
| Right to Grow (R2G): Right2Grow is a strategic partnership between The Hunger Project (THP), Action Against Hunger, CEGAA, Max Foundation, Save the Children, and World Vision, funded by the Dutch Government under the Civil Society Strengthening – Power of Voices initiative. Running from 2021 – 2025, Righ2Grow works in Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Mali, South Sudan, and Uganda to improve nutrition and WASH planning, budgeting, implementation, and accountability at different level to reach full potential of every under five children. In Bangladesh, THP, as an implementing partner, is implementing the project across all 14 Unions of Dumuria Upazila, Khulna District. |
| Global Alliance for Sustainable Nutrition (GASN): The Hunger Project (THP) Global Nutrition Initiative, funded by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day (LDS), a five-year effort (2023 – 2028) to combat undernutrition in women and children. Implemented in Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi, Benin, Mozambique, Senegal, Uganda and Zambia, Mexico, and Bangladesh, the project empowers communities to adopt multiple micronutrient supplementation (MMS), practice seven essential nutrition actions (ENAs), and ensure safe water, improve hygiene, and sanitation (WASH) practices. In Bangladesh, THP is implementing the project in 50 Unions across seven districts. |
| Voter Education and Active Citizenry: This18 months (July 2023 – December 2024) project, funded by the EU, and implemented by The Hunger Project in 30 Districts across Bangladesh, aims at promoting democracy. It seeks to empower voters, political actors and CSOs by providing information on candidates to promote free, fair and credible elections. This initiative also focuses on reaching a political settlement to build an inclusive, and resilient society and engages youth, particularly the first-time voters, and women strengthening democratic process. |
| Nagorik: The Hunger Project, as sub-grantee of IFES, is implementing the Nagorik project, funded by USAID, in 22 Sub-districts across twelve districts of Bangladesh. The project is designed to promote civic engagement and peaceful political process by equipping community leaders, including youth, political and CSO leaders with the necessary knowledge, skills, and tools to enhance civic participation as well as to understand and address violence everywhere, fostering peace and harmony. | Preventing Child Marriages with a Community Based Approach: The Hunger Project, funded by BMZ, is implementing this project in Barisal and Tangail districts from October 2022 to June 2025. The overall objective of the project is to enhance community participation in addressing child marriage and improve living conditions. It seeks to empower 7,798 girls, young women, boys, community members and civil society representatives in working areas to apply their knowledge for preventing child marriage and carrying out advocate for sexual and reproductive health rights. |
| Strengthening local governance for localizing and achieving SDGs: The Hunger Project, funded by Tauro Foundation through THP Switzerland, is implementing this project in six Unions of Tarail Upazila, Kishoregonj, from October 2022 to December 2024. The objective of this project is to build the capacity of both the elected local government bodies (Union Parishads) and grassroots civil society to work together in localizing and achieving the SDGs. It seeks to increase awareness, transform mindsets, expand women’s participation in the public space, and make sustainable progress in local SDG indicators. |
| Building Youth Leadership for Promoting Pluralism and Social Harmony: The project aims at mobilizing a new generation of youth leaders who will champion Bangladesh’s founding values of pluralism, inclusiveness, and tolerance. Leveraging the existing Youth Ending Hunger network of nearly 100,000 young people, it is being implemented across 10 districts in Bangladesh, with funding from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) from July 2024 to June 2026. The initiative seeks to empower youth with the knowledge, critical thinking skills, and resources necessary for active democratic participation. |
| Prompting Social Harmony (ForB): With the support of the Church of England and funding from FCDO, The Hunger Project has been implementing this project in eight districts of the country for the past two years with the aim of establishing freedom of religion and belief and promoting harmony in communities. The ongoing phase of the project started last June, which will be completed in March 2025. The project provides training to young volunteers to change their mindsets and enhance leadership skills. The trained youth are supported to conduct various programs including campaigns to establish harmony and freedom of religion and belief in their areas. |
| Locally led Development in Fragile Environment (LIFE): This research project, funded by USAID and administered by THP Global office as the Global Secretariat for MCLD (Movement for Community-led Development), aims at exploring the impact of community dynamics in NPEs (Non-Permissive Environments) on leadership development – specifically, how these dynamics shape who becomes leaders, how leadership is cultivated, and the resulting effects on development outcomes. The study will investigate how facilitation and leadership contribute to resilience at sites in Bangladesh and Ethiopia. In Bangladesh, The Hunger Project (THP) is conducting this research evaluation of the SDG Union and Participatory Action Research (PAR) sites, using a group of international experts, covering the period from July 18, 2022 – July 17, 2025. |
