Overall Objective: to promote and protect democracy which ensures human freedom and a better life
for the people.
Specific Objectives: (1) empowerment of voters, political actors, and CSOs with information about the
antecedents of candidates as a means of promoting free, fair and credible elections; and motivating
them to demand a long-term political settlement; and
(2) make youths, particularly the first-time voters, and women knowledgeable about the electoral and
democratic process, and get them engaged in strengthening democracy in the country.
Activities:
1. Staff orientation and training
2. Orientation with local SHUJAN chapters
3. Orientation with local YEH chapter
4. Hold workshops at the divisional level to promote National Charter
5. Collect candidates’ disclosures and post on www.votebd.org of all constituencies
6. Orientation for familiarizing votebd to journalists
7. Roundtable discussions on electoral issues
8. Press conferences pre and post-election
9. Comparative analysis and research on candidate information
10. Social media campaigns, messages boosting and dissemination of infographics and brief
reports
11. Talk-shows in electronic media focusing on issues of political settlement and credible elections
12. Two-day-long residential ToT for Youth Leaders who will facilitate Citizenship workshops
13. Citizenship workshop with the first-time voters
14. Democracy Olympiad with the Youth/Students
15. Orientation on electoral violence monitoring and continued support
